Central Heating Systems
The most common central heating system is low temperature hot water. In these installations a boiler is used which heats the water circulating in the radiators by burning oil.
The most important step for saving energy in these systems is proper and regular maintenance and adjustment of the boiler / boiler system, as this ensures high system performance. Maintenance should be carried out by a properly trained maintenance technician at least once a year, at the beginning or at the end of the winter season and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Periodic ventilation should be done to improve the efficiency of the radiators. The vent is designed to remove trapped air that does not allow water to circulate freely. This is easily understood since part of the surface of the radiator (usually the top of it) is cold in contrast to the rest of the surface which is warm.
The efficiency of the body can also be improved by periodically cleaning its inner fins with the help of a special brush
In order also to reduce unnecessary waste of energy, the operation of the system should be automatically controlled by an internal room thermostat. The system thermostat should be located in a location representative of room temperature and not near radiators or other heat sources that may interfere with its operation and be adjusted to the lowest possible temperature that satisfies tenants' comfort conditions. Usually a setting at 20 degrees Celsius is satisfactory. The programmable thermostats also allow for the simultaneous programming of the system operation period and the desired temperature for each period.
